Hello everybody,

In this new post I am going to talk about how English Teachers can help their little students to start writing. Sometimes Teachers who work in kinder garden schools got desperate because in the student’s books there are include writing exercises and sometimes is almost impossible to have the time in order to be explaining individually how to take the pencil, crayon, color, etc. and honestly is wasting of time and the little students get frustrated because of their age they do not know how to write, in simple words they are no ready yet.

This problem happened to me this year, I am working with kinder garden students from second grade and they are four years old. In the student’s book there are many exercises that require writing and to be honest some of them had been very difficult for some of my students so, what I had done since three months was:

First, I thought them how to follow lines and different patterns using pencils and crayons. Once they knew how to follow lines and patterns, I taught them how to trace first single letters and by practicing and practicing it every day and for homework too they learned it. Once they practiced how to traced letters;  they were ready to traced and copied words so, now they had to traced the words and once traced them they copied them.

Finally, after all of this process my students are learning little by little how to copy words from the black board, honestly is amazing to know and see these little students copying words from the blackboard.

In this website you will find different worksheets for young students, it had been very useful for me:
